Mr. Ray started AEQUUS Corporation, a contract lobbying firm in 1976. His firm provides representation in Washington State, Hawaii and Oregon as well as the Northwest delegations in the U.S. Congress. His firm’s clients are also active participants in the support of candidates in the election process, both on the State and Federal level.
A sample of Mr. Ray’s diverse clients include; Pacific Merchant Shipping Association, Todd Pacific Shipyard, Abbott Laboratories, and Washington Alliance for Health Insurance Trust.
Mr. Ray’s professional efforts concentrate on creating coalitions of similar interests to address contentious legislative issues. The issues Mr. Ray has navigated include proposed tax increases to stopping restrictive environmental legislation. His development of effective coalitions have included farmers, manufactures, food processors, unions, medical groups and even environmentalists.
Mr. Ray is active in his community by providing leadership for the Kinship Care Project. This organization raises money for Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles that find themselves raising grandchildren, nieces and nephews usually because of parents suffering from drug and alcohol addiction. This problem is sweeping the state and creating hardship for people who did not expect to be raising children at such a late stage in their lives. This project provides a little extra help financial assistance around the holidays as well as offering social and support services year around.

Lura Sheahan has over twenty years experience in public relations, marketing and grassroots development. Before joining MassAffairs, Lura developed cyber-advocacy platforms for World Vision, the world's largest Christian relief organization. There, she held the position of Director of Advocacy, Integration and Campaigns. Working with World Vision's Government Affairs Division, she implemented a successful online advocacy program to advocate on behalf of WV donors to the United States Congress and members of the G-8.
Lura has worked in government service for former U.S. Senator Slade Gorton, on major Washington state gubernatorial campaigns and U.S. Senate races, Catholic Community Services and World Vision. Her private sector experience includes The Four Seasons Hotel Chain, KIRO TV (Seattle CBS affiliate) and Commerce Internationale Trade LTD.
Lura is a graduate of Tulane University with a degree in International Finance and Marketing. She is married, with three children and lives in Steilacoom, Washington. |

Mr. John Giese is a well known Pacific Northwest public relations and public affairs consultant. He is currently President and CEO of John Giese & Associates. He has been consulting for major companies and business trade associations since 1988. He is also a former Senior Vice President for Hill and Knowlton.
Mr. Giese has worked on a wide diversity of clients with public relations and public affairs needs, including but not limited to: manufacturing, real estate, natural resources, health care, taxation and regulatory issues.
Mr. Giese has extensive working experience at all levels of government. He served as Chief of Staff in Washington, DC, to a former Washington State Congressman. He was a senior assistant to a former Washington State governor. Mr. Giese has also worked for the King County Planning Division, the Washington State Office of Community Development, the City of Renton and the Washington State Department of Ecology. He has Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Washington in History and Political Science.
He is currently a member of the Washington State Forest Practices Appeals Board. He was a member of the Washington State Redistricting Commission during 2001-2.

Directing and managing technology initiatives as a Mass Affairs Partner is Mr. Lex Nepomuceno who has served as Chief Information Officer (CIO) with a multi-state food industry company. Until recently, he served as Vice President of Communications for the Association of Washington Business (AWB), the state-level Chamber of Commerce, where he expanded the association's web presence tenfold and founded the award-winning Washington Business Magazine and JobMakers.com.
Before AWB, Lex co-founded and served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for one of the first internet interactive political affairs companies. iPolitics was a pioneering business-to-business technology company that served the political markets and developed online voting technologies. Lex has also consulted numerous political campaigns and organizations regarding Internet presence and technologies, including local, congressional and statewide candidates.
An alumnus of the University of Washington , Lex studied International Communications and was elected ASUW (Associated Students of the University of Washington ) Vice President for Personnel, as well as ASUW Board of Control. He currently serves on the Boards of the Association of Washington Business and the Peter Putnam Foundation. |

Clif Finch is an attorney and veteran lobbyist in Olympia with 20 years of experience passing legislation and influencing regulatory decisions. He has served on numerous gubernatorial, legislative and agency task forces and boards, from the original State Workforce Training Board to the legal task force that rewrote the state law governing agency rulemaking.
Clif was the Director of Governmental Affairs for Human Resources and General Counsel at the Association of Washington Business for 18 years. AWB is the largest organization in Olympia representing the entire business community, and advocates before the State legislature and State agencies to improve the business climate in Washington State. Clif is a recipient of the prestigious Ron Gjerde Award for his efforts on behalf of the employer community. More recently he was head of the Washington Food Industry.
Clif is a graduate of Ohio University and the Seattle University School of Law. He served in the armed forces as an infantry officer in Berlin, Germany. Clif and his wife Carol live in Olympia. |
